mission
The mission of Serve Sandpoint is to create a culture of others-mindedness in our church that leads to acts of service.
creating a culture of others-mindedness in our church . . .
In his letter to the Philippians, the apostle Paul offers the church a powerful description of what it means to be a community of Christ-followers. Paul writes, “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” Philippians 2:2-4 (NLT).
Serve Sandpoint looks at everything we do as a church through the lenses of others-mindedness. Serve Sandpoint challenges us with question, “How are we holding up the value of selfless service in our church?” Serve Sandpoint focuses on teaching, resources, events, and personal disciplines to help each of us serve like Jesus.
. . . that leads to acts of service
While the Serve Sandpoint team offers opportunities for our church as a whole to serve others, these opportunities represent a much bigger goal. The goal? That every person in our church would wake up in the morning asking the question: “Who can I serve today?”
This question reminds us to pay attention to the needs of others and to take an active role in meeting those needs.
