Growth Environments
foyer
In the foyer, hosts welcome guests and do everything they can to make their guests comfortable.

Cedar Hills’s primary foyer environments are Sunday morning gatherings. These gatherings are a great environment for celebrating God. Gatherings offer a comfortable venue for learning more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith, and how to make progress on your spiritual journey.

In the foyer, you choose your pace. You can stay anonymous or meet new people. You can sing or not sing, stand or not stand, listen or not listen.

Foyer environments are a great place to start, and we encourage everyone to regularly participate in these environments.

living room
The living room is where people hang out. It’s where guests become friends—where people find out more about each other, have fun together, and share the peaks and valleys of life.

Most living room environments through Cedar Hills can be described with two words: group life. Group life is simply tracking with a small group of people over time to develop relationships and grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

You’ll find all sorts of group life opportunities within Cedar Hills: series groups, small groups, interest groups. Or maybe you’ll want to start your own group. (We’ll help you get started—you don’t have to do it alone!)

We’ve found that people who participate in living room environments feel better connected, more supported and more satisfied with their spiritual progress. Choose a group life opportunity (feel free to try a few to find a good fit!) and start connecting with God and others in a new way.

kitchen
The kitchen is where the work gets done—kitchens support everything else that happens in the house! As we work together in the kitchen—preparing a meal, stocking the refrigerator, cleaning up—friends become family.

Any opportunity to serve through this church family is a kitchen environment. When you use your God-given gifts, time and energy to move the mission forward, you’ve moved into the kitchen.

Living out the mission God’s given us as a church takes literally hundreds of people pulling together. Everyone has a role to play—what will yours be?

Explore an opportunity to serve and check it out—you don’t have to sign up for life! If you find a good fit right away, great. If not, keep looking—this church family will never be all God’s called us to be until your gifts are unleashed in service.
